- Made plan in SketchUp
- #ppp learned SketchUp!
- Made alternative plan for a version with a lip, way more complicated - overlapped half-lap joint, breadboard ends, cutouts for breadboard ends… stuck to lipless
- Still arm slope complicates it so much! Stopped groove to avoid butt joint and allow top to move independently from crossbar, pins rather than glue for same reason
- Converted from SketchUp to cut list, worked decently
- learnings:
- have a “parts” instance of each component
- tag “parts” instances and “assembly” instances for easy show/hide
- export as STL - assembly comes out as garbage but parts have right dimensions
- use CutListEvo’s “import 3D model” feature, does a decent job inferring materials and part cuts
- learnings:
- Cut out top and sides
- Didn’t cut out crossbar yet - dimensions depend on final dimension of top and sides after planing
- Started truing top. One face almost good

- finished truing up top
