Random notes to remember some amari.
- Faccia Brutto Fernet Pianta
- first had this in a cocktail similar to Far Above the World, where it came across as very minty and light and complex
- tasted on its own the rich, bitter spice notes come through more than the mint - I’ve been adding mint bitters to pull out the mint notes
- Leopold Bros Fernet
- minty and rich and complex, like a minty Christmas pudding
- Alta Verde
- bitter finish like#malort but much more interesting nose and palate. Floral, delicate, almost elderflower-like.
- Lo-Fi Gentian Amaro
- Quite sweet, good in cocktails with fresh fruit (muddled or juiced)
- Amaro Lucano
- Nose: gingerbread, cherry jam. Palate: fruitcake, raisins. Finish: licorice, plum.
- Amaro Nardini
- Gentle mint, milk chocolate, citrus, licorice. Very approachable. Could stand in for China-China but more mellow.
